Lord Plumer, High Commissioner of Palestine, will resign from his position after June 1, according to a report published today in the “Jewish World.” The most likely successor to Lord Plumer will be Lord Allenby, conqueror of Jerusalem. Rumor, however, mentions as a candidate for the post, a brilliant young man of the Anglo-Jewish community, who is not unknown in the political Zionist world and in literature.

The “Daily News” publishes a report today that Sir Herbert Samuel has refused the chairmanship of the Central Electricity Board because it is his intention to re-enter political life as a member of the Liberal Party. Sir Herbert is now engaged in finishing his book on Palestine and he will enter politics in the early spring.
