Jewish Metal Workers Organize Cooperative Plant in Warsaw

The unemployment prevalent among Jewish metal workers in Poland will be partly alleviated as a result of the workers’ own efforts.

Due to the heavy competition among the large metal factories, many small metal plants run by Jews were compelled to close down, throwing many Jewish workers out of work. They were unable to obtain employment in the large factories.

With the aid of the Jewish Workingmen’s Credit Institution, a cooperative factory with the participation of one hundred Jewish metal workers is now being formed.
