An order issued by the Greek Ministry of War cancelled the previous ordinance which was in force for some time whereby Jewish citizens could free themselves from military service by paying a special tax.

The new ordinance, which goes into effect on March 8, states that no citizen will be permitted to buy themselves off from military service. The term of service in the Greek army is eighteen months.
