A bill to grant the Central Government authority in the administration of the universities and colleges in Poland, notwithstanding the existing autonomy of the schools, is now being prepared by the Ministry of Education, the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learns form reliable sources.
Under the provisions of the new bill the government would be in a position to intervene with the university senates in the matter of the application of the numerus clausus against Jewish students. Until now the previous Polish governments asserted that despite their desire that no discrimination be practiced against Jewish students, they could not interfere with the decisions of the senates in view of their autonomous status.
