Rabbi Shapira, Chassidic Rebbe of Munkacz who recently proclaimed a ban on his adversary, the Rebbe of Belz, has invoked the power of the Cherem (religious ban) against the Keren Hayesod workers in his town.

The Cherem also includes Col. Josiah Wedgwood, British labor leader, who is now in Czechoslovakia in the interests of the Keren Hayesod.

The Rebbe was mild this time in invoking only the “small Cherem” which differs from the “great Cherem” in that it is performed with less pomp.
