California Assembly Passes Kosher Meat Bill

The Kosher Meat Bill introduced by Assemblyman Harry Lyons of Los Angeles was passed by the lower house of the legislature today.

The bill which is modelled after the New York State Kosher Meat Law, provides punishment for falsely representing meat as kosher and requires merchants to display signs stating whether or not the meat they offer for sale is kosher.
