Cherson Jewish Region Colonies Celebrate As Conference Opens

Sadeh Menncha. the oldest Jewish colony in the Cherson district and the principal city of the proposed Jewish region was the scene today of a Jewish farmers’ parade and festivity on the occasion of the opening of the Cherson Jewish Soviet district executive conference.

Thousand of adults and children came to Sadch Menncha from the old and new settlements in the district. They paraded in the streets carrying formers and singing songs.

The number of delegates was so great that the Vcikshans could not hold them and the opening session of the conference was hold outdoors. Forty speakers greeted the conference, including representatives of the Ukrainian Wzik, Central Executive Committee of the Communise Party the government social cultural and professional organizations. The government representatives denounced and-Semitism in their addresses A great impression was made by the speakers from the old colonies who described the lives of the farmers.
