The bloc of Catholic and nationalistic Austrian parties formed for the forthcoming national elections is not swayed by anti-Semitism and if its candidates will come into power the equality of all citizens will be preserved. This promise was made by Monsignor Seipel, chancellor of the Republic, who heads the bloc.

“The bloc is far removed from any kind of anti-Semitism. Its purpose is only to unite all parties which are anxious to protect the right of private property. The government has in the past and will in the future guard the rights of all citizens without regard to race or religion. No one will be able to persuade me to sidestep the policy of equal rights,” the chancellor declared.
