David A. Brown Urges Rabbis to Aid Union

David A. Brown, chairman of the Finance Committee of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations has called on Rabbis of Reform temples throughout the country to appeal to their congregations to give support to the activities of the Union. An effort is now being carried on to secure funds for the activities of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. A budget of more than a half million dollars a year is required for this work.

The second annual conference of the National Council for Jewish Education will be held in Atlantic City, N. J., May 29th to June 1st. The sessions will take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Jewish educators throughout the country will present papers on various phases of the problem of Jewish education, it was announced. The purpose of the Council is to study the problem of Jewish education and to present the results of this study to the American Jewish public.

Ben Rosen, Director of the Associated Talmud Torahs of Philadelphia, will be the chairman of the opening session of the Conference. Dr. Leo L. Honor, President of the National Council for Jewish Education, will review the progress of Jewish education in the past year.

A discussion of the direction of Jewish educational activity during the coming year will be led by Dr. Samson Benderly, Director of the Bureau of Jewish Education in New York.

Israel Chipkin, Educational Director of the Jewish Education Association of New York City, is in charge of the program for the convention.
