Plans for a Federation of Temple Brotherhoods in New York City were formulated at a dinner at the Hotel Astor, Tuesday night, attended by representatives of 22 Brotherhoods in New York, Brooklyn, and nearby New Jersey cities. The New York Federation of Temple Brotherhoods will cooperate with the New York Federation of Temple Sisterhoods and the recently organized Association of Reform Congregations.
Roger W. Straus, president of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods, presided. Mr. Straus said that the Temple Brotherhoods aimed to make the young man a vital force in the spiritual life of the community, and to support by active participation in its work the efforts of the synagogue to bring Judaism to the Jew. Arthur L. Reinhart, executive secretary of the organization, told of the growth of the Brotherhoods and the increased interest in their work throughout the country. Mr. Reinhart has just completed a tour of southern and western States, where many new Temple Men’s Clubs were organized.
