A claim that the Biblical Mount Sinai is not located on the Sinai Peninsula but is situated in Edom, south of the Dead Sea, was put forward by the Danish scientist, Ditleu Nielson.

The scientist who returned after making researches in Palestine, Egypt and Transjordania claims he can prove that the so-called Mount Sinai is not the mountain referred to in the Bible, but that this mountain is situated in Edom.
