Professor Maurice H. Farbridge was appointed the first professor at the University of lowa’s school of religion. He will be in charge of the courses in the Jewish faith.

Professor Farbridge was formerly professor at the University of Manchester, England.

Prof. Farbridge is the author of “Studies in Hebrew and Semitic Symbolism”, and is about to publish a volume. “Judaism and the Modern Mind.

According to the agreement teached with the Jews of the State of Iowa. led by F. P. Adler of Davenport, and Rabbi Eugene Manheimer of Des Moines, Professor Farbridge’s salary will be paid by them. Classes in the school convene for the first time September 17.
