The City Council refused to-day to honor the memory of Dr. Leo Zamenhof, father of Esperanto, by renaming the street where he lived. The suggestion was made by the delegates to the Esperantists Congress that Dzika street in the heart of the Jewish quarter in Warsaw be renamed Zamenhof street.

The city government rejected this proposal on the basis of a previous decision against changing the names of streets.
