A revival of the old drama, “The Grand Lady,” whose heroine is the Empress Marie Theresa, resulted in serious anti-Semitic riots before the National Theatre in Budapest, a dispatch to the New York Times states, The Jewish author, Szomory, wrote the play.

Two thousand demonstrants attempted to storm the theatre. Mounted police dispersed the crowd and made sixty-five arrests.
