Satil Weislow, a junior in the University of Chicago, was elected captain of the university’s football team for next year. Weislow is the first Jew to be so honored at the university of Chicago and the second Jew to hold a captaincy in the Big Ten Conference. Benny Friedman of Michigan being the first one to be named to lead a Big Ten team.
Weislow who is 19 years old, will be the youngest Big Ten captain next year. For two years he has been regular tackle on the varsity squad. He belongs to the H. Lamba Phi Jewish fraternity and is a graduate of the Englewood High School of Chicago.
