Adopt Measures to Widen Activities of Zionist Orthodox Wing

The understanding arrived at between the Mizrachi Zionist Organization of America and the United Palestine Appeal for this year, leading to the abandonment of the original pians of the Mizrachi to embark upon an independent campaign for $500,000, was ratified at a Conference of Orthodox Jews for the Upbuilding of Palestine held Sunday at the Waldorf-Astoria.

The conference was convened on the initiative of the Mizrachi organization and afforded the opportunity for the first public appearance of the Mizrachi delegation consisting of Rabbi Meyer Berlin, Rabbi Benzion Uziel, Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Jaffa, Rabbi J. L. Fishman and Professor Herman Struck, who arrived from Palestine to aid in the campaign.

About 300 delegates from ten eastern states attended the sessions which were held under the chairmanship of Rabbi Jacob Levinson, president of the American Mizrachi.

Measures to strengthen the Orthodox wing of the Zionist movement in the United States were adopted in a series of resolutions calling for the establishment of a Mizrachi branch in every Orthodox congregation, enrolling every seat holder as a member, imposing an obligation on each congregation to work for the United Palestine Appeal
