Seeking ways and means of aiding Jewish emigrants to find refuge in new countries and to engage in productive work is the subject of a conference which opened here yesterday.
The conference was called on the initiative of the European branches of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid and Sheltering Society of America, and the Emigdirekt, United Jewish Emigration Committee. Dr. Alfred Klee, member of the Berlin Kehillah and Zionist leader, is presiding over the conference.
Reports were submitted on the work done by Dr. Krainin and Dr. James Bernstein. The plan to create a Jewish emigrants bank is being considered.
