A declaration of protest against the recent anti-Jewish outrages in Roumania was adopted by the Association of French Rabbis.

The declaration, which was made public by Dr. Israel Levi, Chief Rabbi of France, is couched in strong terms, particularly those passages referring to the burning of synagogues and the desecration of Holy Scrolls and cemeteries in Transylvania.

“These sacriligious acts have provoked pain and indignation among all Jews; we interpret the sentiments of French Jewry,” the declaration states.
