The Upper House of the Hungarian Parliament passed today by a large majority the government bill for the modification of the Numerus Clausus, which makes a nominal change in the present law without abolishing the restrictions against Jewish students in the Hungarian universities.

This bill was recently passed by the Lower House after a long and bitter debate.

The Senate adopted the measure despite the fact that most of the speakers who participated in the discussion prior to the vote were opposed to it.
