A petition to Minister of Trade Valentzas against the compulsory Sunday rest law was presented by a delegation of the Society Shomrei Shabath.

It was stated that the Jewish deputies are preparing to urge drastic changes to relieve the Jewish population of the compulsion to keep their shops closed for two days weekly. The bill will come up before the house during the discussion of amendments proposed by the government. The government has agreed to allow small traders to open for a few hours on Sunday mornings. This applies only to the villages.
