Albert H. Lieberman, chairman of the United Jewish Campaign for Eastern Pennsylvania, volunteered to cooperate in the fullest measure with the view to bringing the forthcoming campaign of the United Palestine Appeal in this city to a successful end. The campaign will be opened by Dr. Chaim Weizmann Sunday evening, May 6. The quota is $300,000.

In a letter to Rabbi Max D. Klein, chairman of the U. P. A. campaign, Mr. Lieberman said: “I am very proud of the part Philadelphia Jewry plays in national and international affairs. Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania lead the entire country in our effort on behalf of foreign relief. Philadelphia Jewry should at this time take the leadership in a united effort on behalf of Palestine.

“It is very likely that the Jewish Agency plan will be adopted in the very near future. Then, of course, all will unite in this great effort. Why not we, in Philadelphia, at this time be the first to utilize this opportunity and establish our leadership in this direction?”
