Jewish Population of Bessarabia Celebrates Annexation to Roumania

Divine services were held in Jewish temples and synagogues throughout the city on Sunday in celebration of the anniversary of Bessarabia’s incorporation into Roumania.

The Roumanian Minister of Religion and Education, Lapatadu and the Minister of Labor, Lupu were present at the services held in the great synagogue of Kishineff. Rabbi Zirelsohn delivered a patriotic address in honor of the occassion. In his reply the Minister of Labor, Lupu, praised Bessarabian Jews and stated that they may look forward to a bright future under Roumanian rule.

A children’s parade was held after the services. The children carried Roumanian and Zionist flags.
