R. B. Juda, Salonica Jewish Leader, Dead

Impressive ceremonies marked the funeral of Richard Bahar Juda, prominent Jewish leader, who died here yesterday.

Vice-president of the B’nai Brith Lodge and a member of the Jewish Communai Council, Mr. Juda took a leading part in communal affairs. He contributed largely to the work of the B’nai Brith and other Jewish philanthropic agencies here.

He was a distinguished member of the English colony here and during the war served in the British army.

Members of the B’nai Brith, the Jewish Council, pupils of the communal school and Maccabee scouts participated in the funeral exercises.

M. Ascher Mailah, speaking in behalf of the Communal Council, Rabbi Mordohai Satas, for the Grand Rabbinate, and M. David Matalon of the B’nai Brith, paid tribute to the late Mr. Juda and his work.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mathilde L. Solomon, a graduate of New York University, to whom he was married last September.
