B’nai Brith District Lodges Hold Convention

With 110 delegates from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and Delaware attending, the annual convention of District Grand Lodge No. 3 of the Independent Order B’nai Brith opened its sessions here on Sunday morning. Judge Joseph L. Kun of Philadelphia, presided.

In his, annual, report Judge Kun stressed the need of closer relationship between the District Lodge and the home lodges and appealed for cooperation among the members.

During the past year,. the report showed, 1000 new members had been admitted, four new ladies auxiliaries had been formed, 5 new Aleph Zadek, junior chapters, and three new lodges formed. The president pointed to the projected Hillel Foundation at Cornell University and the extension unit at West Virginia University. The sum of $155,000 for Wider Scope Work was raised in the district.

Dr. Boris D. Bogen, national executive secretary, and Dr. B. S. Pollack, past district president, addressed the sessions.

Alired M. Cohen. national president of he I.O.B.B, was the principal speaker at a banquet in the evening attended by over 700 guests. A. L. Wolk, convention chairman Dr. Bogen, I. W. Jacobs and Judge Kun were the speakers.
