Chaim Shlesinger and Joseph Baskin of Jaffa were sentenced to two months imprisonment to be followed by deportation. The charge brought against them was that they belonged to the Communist party.

Eleven Communists detained in the Jerusalem prison awaiting deportation have declared a hunger strike. The prisoners demand that they be accorded better treatment.
