The fourth annual commencement exercises of the Hebrew Union College, School for Teachers in New York City took place last night at Congregation Emanu-El, New York City.
Twenty-five young men and women received certificates of qualification for teaching in religious schools.
Dr. Samuel Schulman, Chairman of the Joint Governing Committee of the School, Dr. Julian Morgenstern, President of the Hebrew Union College, and Abraham N. Franzblau, principal of the school, were the speakers.
The commencement exercises marked the close of the fifth year of the activity of the Hebrew Union College School for Teachers which was established in 1923.
The school is conducted by the Hebrew Union College in cooperation with the Association of Reform Rabbis and is administered by a Governing Committee composed of Dr. Samuel Schulman, Chairman; Rabbi Solomon Foster of Newark, Dr. Jacob S. Goldbaum, Philadelphia, Dr. Alexander Lyons, New York City; Dr. William Rosenau, Baltimore, Dr. Abram Simon, Washington, D. C., Dr. Nathan Stern, Ludwig Vogelstein, and Rabbi Jonah B. Wise of New York City.
