The income of the Keren Hayesed for June amounted to £26,910 No funds were received from the United States during last month.
Dnniel B. Freedman of New York City received the Iargest share of the estate of Miss Isabella Freedman. After his death. $75,000 will go to the Jewish Working Girls Vacation Society which was willed $25,000 outright from Miss Freedman’s estate. The remainder, after the brother’s death, will go into the establishment of the Isabella Freeman Foundation. to be administered by various trustees for the benefit of charity.
Miss Freedman, who died May 25, 1927. left an estate of $492,993. She was a sister of the late Andrew Freedman, who founded the Freedman Home for aged couples in New York City.
Seventy-five Chelsea men prominent in civio affairs gave a testimonial banquet to Samuel E Paulive, recently retired president of the Chelsea Chamber of Commercent the Boston Chamber of Commerce, on the night of July 11. The dinner was given by the Citizens Committee of Chelsea in recognition of Mr. Paulive’s services to the community. The speakers were: Judge Jacob S. Strahl, Brooklyn, N. Y.; Georgs C. Francis, superintendent of schools in Chelsea: Samuel Rohie, publisher of the Chelsea Evening Record: Judge Samuel R. Cutler of the Chelsea District Court and Francis X Tirrell.
