The question of Palestine’s self-government was raised in the House of Commons yesterday.
Col. Josiah Wedgwood asked assurances of the Colonial Secretary that no self-government, nor any form of a representative governing institution be granted Palestine until there is no longer any risk of the Jewish minority being dominated by the majority. The Mandatory power must see that all elements in the country are suffiently developed to take their share of responsibility before granting self-government. Until then, it must retain control to prevent injustice and exploitation of the minority.
