Efforts to assist the Jewish colonists in the Crimea and the Ukraine who suffered as a result of the failure of their crops will be made by the government.
The colonists who suffered losses will receive seeds and an allowance of twelve roubles per acre as a loan from the government, made through the Comzet. As a condition for this loan, the settlers must sign an agreement that the forthcoming crop will be sold to the government.
The Comzet, in instructing its branches with regard to this loan, states that the contract is not to be compulsory. The crops of ninety-two hundred hectares of the 17,000 cultivated by Jewish colonists in the Yevpatora and Jankoy districts have already been contracted for in this way. Three thousand hectares of this area are cultivated under the auspices of the Ozet and 6,200 under the Agrojoint.
