(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

A large part of the old Jewish cemetery at Lieben, a suburb of Prague, was sold by the local Kehillah to the municipality.

The municipality was eager to obtain the land for a projected bridge. A great number of graves and tombstones will have to be moved. It was stated that a large sum was involved in the transaction and that it was for the first time that a Kehillah agreed without resistance to relinquish consecrated ground.
