Jabotinsky Joins Judea Life Insurance Company, Ltd. As Vice President

Vladimir Jabotinsky, head of the League of Zionist Revisionists, has joined the Judea Insurance Company, Limited, it became known here today.

Mr. Jabotinsky will act in the capacity of vice-president and will take up residence in Jerusalem.

The Judea Industrial Corporation of New York which owns and controls the Judea Insurance Company Ltd. of Palestine, in a statement given today to a representative of the Jewish Daily Bulletin confirmed the report that Vladimir Jabotinsky was elected vice-president and treasurer of the Judea Insurance Company Ltd, at the statutory meeting of the company held in Jerusalem, August 14, 1928.

Mr. Jabotinsky who is residing in Paris intends to leave with his family about the middle of September to settle in Jerusalem.

At the same meeting Mark Schwartz who was the director of the Palestine Department of the Zionist Organization of America, was elected Executive Director of the Judea Insurance Company Ltd. Mr. Schwartz is now in Jerusalem in charge of the head office of the Company.

Judge Jacob Strahl, the president of the Judea Industrial Corporation left Jerusalem on August 28. While there the president concluded an agreement with a large reinsurance company for reinsuring the excess business of the company which is being done in Palestine and Egypt. This agreement provides for the investment of all premiums collected by the company to be retained for investment in Palestine according to the statement of the New York company.

The office of the company in Cairo, Egypt is headed by the well-known Egyptian-Jewish financier, Cattaui Pasha, the president of the Commercial Bank of Egypt.

The offices of the company in Alexandria, Egypt are in charge of the bankers, Aghion Freres, who are the general agents for the Judea Insurance Company Ltd. for that section of Egypt.

The seventh annual convention of the Young Poale Zion of America and Canada opened its sessions in Milwaukee on Friday. The convention will continue through Monday. The first session was held at the Golden Links Temple. William Henry, national executive of the Socialist party was the principal speaker.

The closing session will be in the nature of a memorial meeting to Dr. N. Syrkin, Poale Zion leader who died four years ago. The business sessions will be held in the Jewish Folk institute.
