Dr. Gelbhaus, Spinoza and Cabala Scholar, Dies

Dr. Sigmund Isiah Gelbhaus, well known Jewish scholar and former rabbi, died here today at the age of seventy-six.

Dr. Gelbhaus was the author of numerous works in Jewish research. His book on the influence of Cabla on Spinoza’s philosophy, published in 1917, attracted wide attention. It was stated today that he has left in manuscript a work which will fill several volumes on the relation between Islamism and the Mosaic faith.
