What is said to be the first ascent of Mount Nebo by automobile was accomplished yesterday by Dr. A. F. Futterer.
Dr. Futterer, who represents the Los Angeles Bible Institute, was granted permission by the Palestine government to seek the Ark of the Covenant on Mount Nebo, where he believes it was hidden, following the destruction of the First Temple. He arrived in Palestine in June 1927 to begin his search.
