A large number of the Jewish textile workers in the district of Lodz went out on strike, demanding an increase of wages. The general number of strikers, including Jewish and Polish workers, is estimated to be 80,000. The Jewish textile unions of Warsaw have declared a sympathy strike, which is extended to other industrial centers. The Warsaw government is taking a hand in the situation in an attempt to settle the dispute.
