Preliminary plans for the consolidation of three Reform Jewish congregations have been discussed by officers and directors of the congregations. The synagogues are Temple Israel, whose Rabbi, Leon Harrison, died in New York this summer, Shaare Emeth. Louis Witt, Rabbi, and B’Nai El. Julian Miller, Rabbi.
The plans call for the erection of a modern building involving the expenditure of more than $1,000,000. Leo C. Fuller was elected chairman of the Consolidation Committe.
It is not certain whether consolidation measures will proceed, inasmuch as there appears to be some question as to the wisdom of such a plan.
