Jewish Students Resent Slur in Mcgill Magazine

–Vigorous protest against what is said to be a slur on Jewish girl students at McGill University is being made by Jewish students at McGill through the Maccabacan Circle of McGill University, the only Jewish group at the college.

The protest was called forth by an editorial which appeared in today’s “McGill Daily”the newspaper edited at McGill by students. The editorial, which berates women students in general for coming in late and creating disturbance at college rugy games goes one to say: “We would like to suggest that a separate section be reserved for women of Semitic origin, as they seem to be much the worst offenders. The perhaps a greater cooperation might be secured in rendering the Hebrew version of the McGill yell.”

MORRIS SIGMAN RESIGNS AS INTERNATIONAL HEAD

Morris Sigman, president of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. one of the leading Jewish labor unions, resigned from his position at a meeting of the General Executive Board held late Wednesday afternoon.

No official statement concerning the resignation was issued. The Union was recently torn by internal strife resulting from the protracted fight between the Right and Left Wings.
