“I was born a Jew and I shall remain a Jew.” Franz Molnar, the famous dramatist whose fiftieth birthday is being celebrated here, declared.

Messages of congratulation were received by Molnar from all parts of the world. The French Government conferred on him the Order of the Legion of Honour. He is praised in the Hungarian Press as one of the greatest playwrights of modern times, ranking with George Bernard Shaw. Gerhardt Hauntmann, Pirandello and John Galsworthy, and as such he has brought great honor to his native country, Hungary.

At the triumphal arch which was creeted hore by his admirers throughout the world as a tribute to him on his fifteth birthday there is also a guard of house representing Hungarian Jewry.
