The late Rabbi Isaac Jacob Reines, founder of the Mizrachi Zionist Organization, was honored in his home town when the City Council of Lida, where decades ago he established the famous Yeshiva which combined Talmudic studies with secular education, decided to name one of the streets Reines Street.

The Council also decided to name two other streets after the late Jewish writers J. L. Peretz and S. Ansky.
