As a result of negotiations between the Vaad Leumi, National Council of the Jews of Palestine, and the Agudath Israel on the question of joint action in connection with the incident at the Wailing Wall, an agreement has been reached, states the Agudist organ “Jucdische Presse,” here.
A Commission of eleven members, it proceeds, will be formed of whom seven will represent the Vaad Leumi and four the Agudath Israel. Religious questions will not be decided by a majority vote. On other questions, the majority vote can decide only when at least one member of the other side votes with the majority. “The Government will be asked to consider this mixed Commission as the sole representative of the Jews on the question of the Wailing Wall. The question of whether the Commission should have competence also in political questions concerning the Wailing Wall was raised, the report adds, but the Vaad Leumi refused to agree to such an extension of the competence of the Commission.
