M. Franz Philippson, the President. Leonard L. Cohen, Vice-President, Leonard Montefiore, O. E. d’Avigdor Goldsmid, Professor Salomon Reinach, Paris, Dr. Necker of Paris, Dr. Wahl, Paris, Dr. James Simon, Berlin, Dr. Alfred Klee, Berlin, and Councillor Julius Blau, Frankfort, were present at a meeting of the Council of the Jewish Colonization Association (Ica) which has just been held here.

The meeting discussed the fixing of the budget for the various colonization undertakings of the Ica in South America and Europe. It was pointed out that the various reports of attacks having been made on Jewish life and property in Brazil had been based on misunderstandings, and that in actual fact no attacks had been made on any Jewish colony there.

M. Franz Philippson was re-elected President of the Ica, and Leonard I. Cohen was re-elected Vice-President. Dr. Mitkin, who has for many years been engaged in colonization work and in recent years has been active in the Jewish colonization work in Russia, was appointed by the meeting a director of the Ica in place of the late M. Armand Schmoll.

The tenth anniversary of the organization of the Brooklyn Jewish Center is being celebrated at the Center, located at Dr. Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn.
