Alfred K. Foreman, vice-president of the Foreman Banks of Chicago, was elected president of the Jewish Charities of Chicago at the annual meeting of the Board of Directors. Mr. Foreman has been treasurer of the Jewish Charities of the past ten years. James H. Becker was elected treasurer.
The following officers were re-elected: Julius Rosenwald, honorary president; Sol. Kline and Samuel Phillipson, vice-presidents; Louis M. Cohen, executive director and secretary, and Max-well Abbell, assistant secretary.
Leo F. Wormser, Julius Rosenwald’s attorney, in his nominating speech said that Mr. Foreman, who is 36 years old, is the youngest man to be selected for the post of president of the Jewish Charities. Mr. Rosenwald, in seconding the nomination, said it was an honor to do so for the son of an old friend who had been the first president of the organization.
