An urgent plea for immediate aid to rescue a large section of Bessarabian Jewry was presented by Chief Rabbi Zirelsohn at a press conference held here Friday.
“Aid is needed to save us from starvation. God alone knows what the end of this catastrophe will be. The general economic situation of Bessarabian Jewry is catastrophic,” he declared.
