Sixty-five thousand Lithuanian Jews are facing hunger, declared Mr. Aronowitch, who returned today from the hunger-stricken district which he visited in behalf of the Joint Distribution Committee. The help given the sufferers by Lithuanian Jewry is insufficient, even for bread, he declared.

According to a government decree, the municipality excluded from its budget support for almost all Jewish institutions in Kovno. The institutions which, with the prevailing poverty in the country, will have to withdraw their relief, causing great suffering, include the old age home, the soup kitchens and the Oze health society.
