The German Democratic press in editorials published today urged the Bavarian government to formally guarantee the safety of the Max Reinhardt troupe at its forthcoming presentation of the festive spectacles in Munich.
There is need for such measures, the papers point out, in view of the rabid anti-Semitic agitation carried on by the Hitlerites against the Reinhardt troupe because Mr. Reinhardt is a Jew. The Bavarian government must protect “the most representative German dramatic art,” the paper state.
