To the extent of 500,000 pengoes the government budget for 1929 includes several subsidies for Jewish communal and religious needs in the country.
One hundred and sixty-five thousand pengoes are allotted for both the Neolong and Orthodox communities; 66,000 pengoes for Jewish welfare organizations; 20,000 toward the erection of an Orthodox synagogues.
