A joint protest against the plan of the Roumanian government to place government officials in charge of Kehillah affairs was submitted by fifty Jewish communities in Old Roumania.

The memorandum declares that the violation of the autonomy of the Kehillahs would be considered by the Jewish communities as an action to stifle the free exercise of the Jewish religion.
