The body of Engineer Pinkus, Polish Jewish financial agent, was found near the railway track on the Breslau-Berlin road. Pinkus, who was instrumental in arranging several international loans, was on his way from Poland. It was apparent that his body had been thrown out of the train. He had been robbed.
