London (Jul. 9)
There is much speculation not only in Socialist circles, states the “Daily Mail,” over an invitation which Bernhard Baron has extended to the National Executive of the Socialist Party to lunch with him.
It is believed that Mr. Baron, who (Continued on Page 4)
has been nominated as one of the Socialist peers to be created by Ramsay Macdonald and has given considerable support to the Party, desires to make an important proposal. There is a hint of an annual income for the Party. On an earlier occasion an offer which involved the manufacture and sale of cigarettes, the Party taking the profits, could not be accepted, but it is hinted that any new offer Mr. Baron cares to make will meet with a different fate.
