Turkish Jews Barred from Shipping Works

Jews hither to regularly employed as shipping clerks have been barred from continuing their employment. Upon coming to their regular posts, the Jews who are Turkish subjects. were prevented from entering by the police who informed them that in the future only Moslem Turks will be employed in any shipping works.

Under the Turkish Constitution religious discrimination between Turkish subjects is not permissible. It is understood that the prohibition also extends against Greeks.
