The propaganda for an anti-Jewish boycott has again been started in the Polish anti-Semitic press. This time it is mainly directed against the Jewish population in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
The organization of a special agency, under the leadership of the organizers of the Posen exhibition who already have experience in barring Jews, is urged in articles which appeared in the “Kurier Poznanski” and “Gazeta Warszawska.” To preserve the Polish spirit of Poland’s capital, it is necessary either to transfer the capital from Warsaw to another city or to expel the Jews from Warsaw, the authors of the articles argue. Since the first is not practicable, it is necessary to resort to the second method. The Jewish population of Warsaw numbers 340,000, constituting one-third of the capital’s population. Although the Jewish population is decreasing, due to the fact that the death rate exceeds the birth rate, the process is much too slow, they write. The only solution offered lies in the intensification of the economic boycott and the immigration of Poles from Posen, which will force the Jews to leave Warsaw.
The Jewish press, reproducing these articles, expresses alarm, fearing an increase in the boycott propaganda.
